Around the Table End of Year Update!

I don't know about you, but physical health was never really a priority in the churches that I went to as I was growing up. We would talk about our "bodies being temples for the Holy Spirit," and then we'd go fill those temples with fast

food and skittles, never once making the connection between nourishment and stewardship.

Azure Around the Table was born out of that reality, with a vision to see the church leading the charge in the movement for healthy living in America.

If you're on this website, you are probably already familiar with who Azure is, at least loosely. With the Around the Table Program, we took Azure's standard drop process and added one major detail: we wanted to give back to the churches so that they could better serve their community.

Here are the three main goals of the Around the Table program:

  1. As mentioned above, we want to do all we can to encourage the church to take up their mantle as leaders in health. As our founder and CEO, David Stelzer, says, "a healthy church is an effective church." Understanding that we are called to good stewardship of our bodies and our health is crucial as we try to follow God, and we haven't done a good job of highlighting that in the past, especially in the American Church.

  2. We want your church to become a magnet in your community. Through conversations with some of our AATT drop coordinators, we're already seeing this happen.

"By our second drop, we already had several families that weren't members of our church that had begun attending because of the people they were meeting at their Azure drop," Mason, a youth pastor in Hampton, VA said. "And the drop size is close to doubling each month! That means more opportunities to get to know people in our community who may never come to church otherwise."

  1. Lastly, we want to go above and beyond helping provide healthy food and put our "money where our mouth is." 2% of the drop proceeds will come back to the church to fund ministry needs in your area.

What's so exciting is that in just the four months since we've launched this program, we already have had 200 churches partner with us! This was above and beyond what we could have asked for. We've already given away tens of thousands of dollars to those churches also, and we are so excited to hear what those funds have been used for. So far, I've heard food pantries, building funds, homeless ministries, widows and orphans ministries, mission-trip fundraising, and a ministry for struggling veterans.

We are so grateful to be partnering with all of you, and we can't wait till we're celebrating the next two hundred new drops!

Glory be to God!
